On 24 February 2026, the Primary Wing of Delhi Public School Mathura Road hosted a heartfelt Farewell Assembly for Class V students as they prepare to enter the Senior School in the upcoming academic session.

The solemn yet celebratory programme was conducted by Class IV students with warmth and enthusiasm. It began with a melodious choir, followed by the Thought of the Day and news updates. A meaningful farewell speech conveyed gratitude and good wishes, while a vibrant dance performance added joy to the occasion.

Adding to the warmth of the event, the Head Boy and Head Girl shared cherished memories of their Junior School journey and gratefully acknowledged the constant guidance and encouragement of their teachers.

The ceremony also recognised excellence as the esteemed Principal, Dr Ram Singh, felicitated students for their outstanding accomplishments in various fields. In his address, he emphasised discipline, time management, and self-study as keys to success. He encouraged students to remain focused and grounded, expressing confidence that they would uphold the school’s values and legacy.

The Farewell Assembly concluded on an emotional yet hopeful note, celebrating the students’ achievements and growth as the Primary Wing bid them a proud and affectionate farewell.

On 31 January 2026, the vibrant, green and artist-friendly campus of DPS Mathura Road came alive with colours, imagination and infectious enthusiasm as we proudly hosted the TOI Colour Splash Event.

Under the inspiring and visionary leadership of our respected Principal, Dr. Ram Singh, the school welcomed over 600 young artists from 80 schools across Delhi NCR. Our spacious, well-equipped campus—with its open fields, creative corners and lively learning spaces—buzzed with excitement as students explored the themes “Around the World in a Day” and “Travelling Through a Landmark of Festivals,” transforming the campus into a living canvas

This wonderful initiative by The Times of India, in collaboration with Jockey Juniors, beautifully celebrated creativity, confidence and fearless self-expression among children.

To observe the 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬, activities were conducted for Classes I–V to promote empathy, inclusion, and awareness. Students of Classes I–II participated in the “Draw Without Looking” blindfold art challenge, helping them understand the difficulties faced by visually impaired individuals. Students of Classes III–V researched and presented on famous personalities with disabilities who have achieved great success through determination. The activities encouraged respect for diversity and highlighted the importance of supporting equal opportunities for everyone.

The Primary Wing celebrated Janjatiya Gaurav Divas with engaging creative activities inspired by India’s vibrant tribal heritage, conducted in alignment with CBSE Circular No. Acad-84/2025.

Our young learners immersed themselves in traditional art forms, creating stunning 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐢 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐚𝐝𝐡𝐮𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐢 𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬. Their illustrations beautifully showcased scenes of community life, music, celebration, and wildlife—reflecting the essence of tribal culture.

These activities strengthened fine motor skills, creativity, observation, and cultural awareness.

The artworks truly capture the imagination and artistic spirit of our foundational stage learners as they begin to appreciate India’s rich and diverse cultural legacy.

The Inter-House Weave a Story Competition for Class IV was a resounding success, showcasing the creativity and public speaking skills of our young students! Participants from different houses captivated the audience with their engaging stories, impressive presentations, and confident stage presence. The judges were impressed with the students' creativity, language skills, and overall delivery. Kudos to all the participants for making it a memorable event!

An educational excursion to the National Science Centre, Delhi was organized for the students of Class IV on 31st October 2025. The visit aimed to enhance scientific knowledge and provide hands-on learning experiences beyond the classroom.

The students explored various sections such as the Fun Science Gallery, Human Biology Gallery, Prehistoric Life Gallery, and Water: The Elixir of Life. They observed a variety of exhibits and working models that explained different scientific principles in an interesting and interactive manner.

The children displayed great enthusiasm and curiosity throughout the visit. Teachers guided them and encouraged discussions to help connect what they saw with their lessons in school.

The trip was both educational and enjoyable, sparking scientific thinking and curiosity among students. It was indeed a memorable and enriching experience for all.

Our young learners from the Primary Wing celebrated National Author’s Day with boundless creativity and enthusiasm!

Classes I & II brought their favourite storybooks and authors to life through lively talks and colourful illustrations.

Classes III–V became budding writers in “If I Were an Author”, designing imaginative book titles and eye-catching cover pages.

The celebration beautifully nurtured imagination, expression, and a love for reading and writing, inspiring our young minds to explore the power of storytelling.

The Sixth Prabhjot Baruah Memorial Inter-School English Debate for Classes IV and V on 19 August 2025 at Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, was a resounding success, celebrating the power of words and the spirit of healthy discourse. Thirteen leading Delhi schools participated in the event.

The debate concluded with the prize distribution by the Principal, Dr. Ram Singh. He also encouraged the students to actively take part in such events. The judges praised all participants for their confidence and clarity.

HAR GHAR TIRANGA 2025 As part of CBSE’s “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, DPS Mathura Road organized a series of patriotic activities from 2nd to 14th August 2025.

In Phase I, students decorated notice boards and corridors with Tiranga-themed art, participated in rangoli competitions and took part in online quizzes.

In Phase II, a Tiranga rally was held in the school, where students proudly carried the national flag.

Phase III concluded with the Independence Day flag-hoisting ceremony, along with students and staff uploading selfies with the Tiranga on the official portal.

These activities helped instil a deep sense of pride and respect for the national flag among students, while also promoting creativity and civic responsibility. A total of 3327 / 4326 students enthusiastically participated in the campaign, making it a memorable celebration of unity and patriotism.

Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, organized an Inter-House Hindi debate competition for students of Class IV and V on the topic "Robotic Yug Mein Manveey Sanvednaon Ka Mahatva Nahin Hai" (Importance of Human Emotions in the Robotic Age). The competition saw an enthusiastic participation from students, making it a thrilling experience.

During the debate, students presented their unique perspectives on the topic, both in favor and against, which was the main attraction for the audience. After the results were announced, the Principal, Dr. Ram Singh, addressed the gathering and felicitated the winners. He expressed his gratitude to all participants.

The Primary Wing of Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, successfully hosted the Inter-House English Debate on July 15, 2025. The thought-provoking topic, "Smart gadgets make people dull," sparked a lively discussion, showcasing the exceptional oratory skills and critical thinking of our young debaters. Students from different houses presented well-researched arguments for and against the motion, demonstrating passion and conviction that were truly commendable. The debate not only honed their public speaking skills but also fostered teamwork and critical thinking.

As Cicero once said, "The limits of my language are the limits of my world." Our young debaters have indeed expanded their world through this enriching experience.

The Principal, Dr. Ram Singh graced the occasion and also motivated the participants and the audience.

Under the visionary leadership of our Principal, Dr. Ram Singh, and the motivational guidance of Vice Principal, Ms. Soni Saxena, the Primary Wing's Quiz Club successfully organized a dynamic Quiz Training Session. About 70 enthusiastic students from Classes III-V actively participated in this engaging event.

Led by Mr. Arindam Bhattacharya, the session provided fascinating insights into Indian states and capitals. As a part of the P N Panicker Reading Month initiative, aligning with the CBSE Circular-33, the session aimed to instill a love for reading among students. The introduction to unique sports like Sepak Takraw sparked curiosity and interest, offering a fresh perspective on the world of sports.

To celebrate International Plastic Bag Free Day, Classes I–V engaged in hands-on activities promoting sustainability. Classes I–II decorated cloth bags and played an eco-sorting game to learn about eco-friendly choices. Classes III–V created paper bags using old newspapers, glue, scissors, and ribbons, learning to reuse materials and reduce plastic waste. These activities sparked creativity and awareness, helping students understand the environmental impact of plastic and encouraging responsible habits. The event successfully blended fun and learning, inspiring young minds to care for the planet.

To celebrate World Environment Day, our little environmentalists from Classes I and II at DPS Mathura Road rolled up their sleeves and planted their very own mini gardens!

With cups, soil, and seeds in hand, the children joyfully learned about how plants grow and why it's important to care for nature. They also enjoyed a heartwarming story of The Giving Tree, leaving them inspired and full of love for the Earth.

Students of Classes III to V unleashed their creativity in an Eco-Hero Poster Making activity, designing their own superheroes to fight pollution and protect the planet. Using colours and recycled materials, they showcased their ideas and wrote short descriptions of their hero’s mission to save Earth.

DPS MATHURA ROAD, Physical Education Faculty is pleased to present successful conduct and outcomes of the Sports

Trial held on 17th May 2025 from 6:30 AM to 8:30 AM at the school for Junior classes.

The event witnessed an enthusiastic participation of 255 students from classes I-V, who came forward to compete in a wide array of sports and games. Each trial was overseen by our trained Physical Education instructors, ensuring fair assessment and smooth coordination throughout the event.

From each sport, promising students were shortlisted based on their performance, skill level, teamwork, and potential. These selected students will now undergo further team practice and training sessions in preparation for various competitions scheduled in the upcoming academic session.

This sports trial served as a remarkable platform for students to showcase their athletic abilities and competitive spirit, while also encouraging sportsmanship, discipline, and confidence. It was heartening to see the high level of talent and dedication displayed by the participants.

The council body members from the Primary wing met with the Honourable Principal Dr Ram Singh . The newly elected office bearers, including the Head Boy, Head Girl, Vice Head Boy, and Vice Girl, were also present.

The Principal congratulated the elected members on their new roles and encouraged them to work together to represent the student body effectively , promoting teamwork and leadership skills among students

Under the inspiring guidance of our Principal Dr Ram Singh our school has successfully implemented the BRIDGE PROGRAMME for Class V. This initiative, rooted in the NEP 2020 and NCF 2023, is designed to foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and research skills.

The programme focuses on bridging learning gaps while encouraging active student engagement through hands-on, activity-based learning. It’s a proud step forward in preparing our learners for a brighter, intellectually curious future.

On May 1, 2025, during the 2nd period, the Junior School's basketball court witnessed an exciting Inter-house Basketball match between Satluj and Chenab houses. The students of class IV participated in this match . The match was filled with energetic cheers and impressive displays of skill and teamwork. Both teams showcased their basketball prowess, making it a closely contested game. In the end, Satluj house emerged victorious, demonstrating their strong teamwork and strategy. The event promoted healthy competition and sportsmanship among the students, making it a thrilling experience for all involved.

Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, hosted an Interhouse Newspaper Reading Competition for Class V on April 29, 2025. The event aimed to enhance students' reading skills and foster a love for literature.

Enthusiastic participants from all six houses – Ravi, Chenab, Ganga, Jhelum, Yamuna, and Sutlej – showcased their reading prowess, engaging their peers with interesting news pieces.

This competition inspired young learners and fostered a spirit of camaraderie and enthusiasm for reading.

The Inter-House Spelling Bee Competition for Class IV was held in the school amphitheatre. The event was organized to encourage students to enhance their spelling skills, vocabulary, and confidence.

The competition consisted of multiple rounds, including a warm-up starter round, tricky word round, unfamiliar words and advance words round. The questions became increasingly challenging as the competition progressed, keeping the audience and participants on the edge of their seats. The competition not only showcased the spelling talents of our young learners but also fostered a spirit of teamwork and healthy competition. Stay tuned for more such enriching events in the future!

To instill the significance of voting and to provide a practical understanding of how leaders are elected in our country, the Primary Wing of Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, organized elections for the posts of Head Boy and Head Girl.

Students of Classes IV and V enthusiastically participated in the democratic process by casting their votes for the candidates. This experiential learning initiative offered young learners valuable insight into the importance of voting and the principles of leadership selection. Through this engaging activity, students not only grasped the mechanics of a fair electoral process but also learned the value of making unbiased and informed decisions.

The event was executed with remarkable efficiency and integrity and it served as a meaningful step in nurturing responsible, aware, and active future citizens.

Students of Grades I–V at DPS Mathura Road celebrated World Health Day with a series of fun and educational activities. A short video on healthy living was shown to all students to raise awareness about the importance of good health. Grades I–II participated in "Fruitastic Fun", where they dressed up as their favourite fruits and spoke about their health benefits, enhancing their confidence and communication skills. Grades III–V took part in "Fruit Frenzy", preparing colourful fruit salads and writing about the nutritional value of fruits and vegetables, promoting creativity, hands-on learning, and awareness of balanced diets. The activities successfully encouraged healthy habits while making learning engaging and enjoyable.

The school sports field buzzed with laughter and excitement as the Rocksport Adventure Camp began. Children took part in thrilling activities like burma bridge, rock climbing, commando bridge, laser beam, crawling, tug of war and many more with great enthusiasm and determination. The camp helped them become stronger, work together and believe in themselves. Every child went home with joyful memories of fun-filled activities and proud moments of achievement.

Children learned and recited a poem or rhyme in their preferred language and presented it confidently in class using costumes and props. The activity was successfully conducted and the children participated with great enthusiasm. It helped enhance their language skills, confidence, expression and stage presence. Overall, the activity was engaging and enjoyable for all the children.

The Pre Primary Wing celebrated a vibrant Diwali on 17th October, 2025. Students decorated diyas with colorful designs and made paper lanterns, showcasing their creativity and cultural appreciation. It was a wonderful day for our little ones to come together and enjoy the joyous spirit of the Festival of Lights!

Teachers' Day is a special occasion to honour and appreciate the dedication, hard work, and love that the teachers put into shaping the lives of the children. The Pre Primary Wing celebrated this special day with utmost enthusiasm and gratitude. The children spoke a few heartfelt lines about their beloved teachers to express their admiration and respect.

A fun-filled three-day event was organized for the little ones in the Pre Primary Wing, focussing on the importance of table etiquette and healthy eating.

Highlights of the event:

Day 1- Demonstration on table setting by teachers, helping children understand the basics of proper table arrangements.

Day 2- "Cooking Without Fire" a group activity where the little ones made refreshing lemonade, learning about healthy food choices, sharing, taking turns and patience.

Day 3- The celebration concluded with "Manners Mania", where students participated in engaging activities to practice good manners in a joyful and interactive way.

The event beautifully combined learning with fun, helping children develop essential life skills.

Our little stars from the Pre-Primary Wing had a delightful time at a special screening of “Leo and Tig” in the KG Hall. With eyes full of wonder and smiles that lit up the room, they were completely captivated by the story. Adding to the fun, the children enjoyed crunchy popcorn and refreshing juice while watching the movie. The hall echoed with laughter, giggles and the warmth of shared moments with friends. It was truly a magical movie day-a perfect mix of entertainment, bonding and pure joy.

In a captivating storytelling session, Pre-School C's young learners were treated to the timeless fable "The Lion and the Mouse." Through expressive narration, puppets, and props, the teacher brought the story to life, teaching valuable lessons on kindness, respect, and the power of even the smallest being. This engaging session promoted moral values, memory development, and confidence, making learning a delightful experience for the children.

On July 3, 2025, parents of Pre-School C class presented a engaging parody titled "The Sweet Trap", highlighting the harmful effects of excessive sugar intake. Through a creative mix of song, dance, narration, and props, the parents effectively conveyed the importance of healthy eating habits to the young children. The presentation was both entertaining and informative, leaving a lasting impact on the kids and encouraging them to make nutritious food choices from a young age.

Today, our preschoolers participated in an enactment on “Stranger Danger” to help them understand the importance of staying safe. Through simple role-play activities, children learned who a stranger is and how to respond if approached by someone they don’t know.

The children practiced saying “No!”, stepping away, and informing a trusted adult immediately.

The session was interactive and age-appropriate, ensuring that children understood the message in a fun and engaging way. It was a valuable experience that empowered our little ones with confidence and awareness to stay safe.

The Pre-Primary Wing's Mini Mart activity on May 7, 2025, was a resounding success. Students of Class Pre-School participated in a simulated marketplace, learning financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and social skills. They took on various roles, managed budgets, and practiced buying and selling, developing essential skills in resource management, negotiation, and customer service. The event fostered teamwork, confidence, and creative thinking, providing a valuable learning experience.

On May 5, 2025, Pre-School-C children enjoyed the timeless tale "The Monkeys and the Cap Seller." Through expressive narration, puppets, and interactive elements, the teacher brought the story to life, teaching valuable lessons on staying calm, thinking smart, and solving problems. This engaging session supported memory development, boosted confidence, and promoted moral learning.

_Young Voices on Healthy Eating_

Our Pre-Primary Wing's Poshan Pakhwada celebration continues with students confidently sharing their thoughts on healthy food and nutrition. This engaging activity promoted awareness and encouraged young learners to make informed choices.

As part of the Poshan Abhiyaan, our school is participating in the Poshan Pakhwada celebration till April 25, 2025. The initiative aims to promote nutrition awareness and healthy lifestyles, focusing on school-going children. Our class is divided into groups of 7 children, each performing for a day over a span of 5 days. They will speak and discuss the importance of healthy food using props, promoting wellness across the nation.

The Pre-Primary B class warmly welcomed the new preschool children to the Delhi Public School family through a delightful assembly. The event featured an energetic dance performance, setting a lively tone for the morning. Several students took turns sharing their experiences about the school, highlighting its unique aspects and expressing gratitude for being part of it. They spoke about the various activities they enjoy and learn in school, extending a warm welcome to the newcomers. The assembly was a resounding success, filled with joy and enthusiasm, making the new students feel valued and part of the school community.

Our *Preschoolers* embarked on a fun-filled journey of self-discovery and friendship-building. Through a delightful song, the teacher introduced herself and encouraged the children to introduce themselves to their peers, fostering social interaction and comfort. This was followed by a thrilling game of Peek-a-Boo, where they playfully hid and revealed their faces, and completed a worksheet, proudly declaring their names.

The first day of Pre School was filled with excitement, laughter and a few nervous smiles as our little learners stepped into their classrooms for the very first time. With bright eyes and curious minds, they embarked on their new journey into the world of learning, friendship, and fun. To make the day extra special, the children participated in a delightful activity where they painted paper plates and turned them into cheerful, smiling faces. Using vibrant colours, wiggly eyes, and lots of imagination, each child created a unique masterpiece that reflected their own happy spirit. The activity not only sparked their creativity but also helped them feel more comfortable and connected with their classmates. The classrooms came alive with colours and giggles as the children proudly displayed their smiley faces, bringing warmth and joy to the space. It was a heart-warming start to the school year, and we can’t wait to see all the wonderful things our little stars will discover and create in the days to come.
