The Indo–Albanian Discovery Challenge, an inter-school quiz, was successfully organised on 17 January 2026 at Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, New Delhi, in collaboration with the 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐥𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐚 𝐭𝐨 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚. The event marked a significant step towards fostering global awareness, cultural understanding, and an appreciation of international relations among young learners.
Designed for students of Classes IX and XI, the quiz witnessed enthusiastic participation from leading schools across the Delhi NCR region. It offered students an intellectually stimulating platform to explore the history, culture, heritage, geography, and contemporary identity of Albania, while situating these themes within a broader global context.
The quiz rounds were thoughtfully structured, engaging, and interactive, encouraging students to think critically, collaborate effectively, and demonstrate a nuanced understanding of global affairs.
The event was graced by the 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐆𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭, 𝐌𝐫 𝐃𝐢𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐮 𝐂. 𝐊𝐮𝐤𝐫𝐞𝐣𝐚, 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐥 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐥𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐚 𝐭𝐨 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐏 𝐊𝐮𝐤𝐫𝐞𝐣𝐚 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬. A globally respected architect and urban planner, Mr Kukreja has consistently championed initiatives that bridge education, culture, and international cooperation.
The programme was further honoured by the presence of 𝐌𝐫. 𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐬𝐡, 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲, 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐟𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐬, whose association underscored the importance of such academic and cultural engagements in strengthening diplomatic and people-to-people ties between India and Albania.
Speaking on the occasion, 𝐃𝐫 𝐑𝐚𝐦 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐡, 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥, 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐡𝐢 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥, 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐚 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝, emphasised the pivotal role of education in building responsible global citizens. He highlighted that initiatives such as the Indo–Albanian Discovery Challenge broaden students’ perspectives, nurture cultural sensitivity, and prepare them to engage meaningfully with an increasingly interconnected world.
In the final results of the Indo–Albanian Discovery Challenge, Delhi Public School, Greater Noida secured the First Position, followed by Delhi Public School, Vidyut Nagar at the Second Position. Delhi Public School, Vidyut Nagar also achieved the Third Position, reflecting a commendable performance by the participating teams and a high level of academic excellence demonstrated throughout the competition.
The Indo–Albanian Discovery Challenge stands as a testament to the shared vision of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Albania to India and DPS Mathura Road in promoting cross-cultural learning and early engagement with global issues. By bringing together students, educators, and institutions, the event successfully strengthened people-to-people ties between India and Albania, underscoring education as a powerful bridge between nations and cultures.
