Games form an integral and vital part of the school curriculum. Swimming starts at the age of four for all. One major team game is a compulsory part of the curriculum from Classes VI to VIII. Special scholarship and coaching facilities are provided to sports persons. The school provides facilities for specialized coaching in various games. The popular games played in the school are hockey, football, cricket, badminton, basket-ball, throw ball, volleyball, table tennis, swimming, athletics, gymnastics, judo, wrestling, softball, squash and tennis. Two swimming pools are open to all children by turn, even during the summer break. The school provides facilities for all games. To encourage healthy competition, character building and physical stamina, Inter-Class competitions are held in all available games for senior and junior boys and girls each year. Moreover, scores of students have played at the State and National levels.

Health and Physical Education (HPE) and SEWA(VI-XII)

Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE), in consultation with the MHRD and the Ministry of Sports, Government of India has introduced a streamlined and well-designed Health and Physical Education (HPE) Program to mainstream health and physical education in schools for students of class I-XII. The format of HPE envisions that each student will undertake activities categorized under four strands:

  • Games and Sports
  • Health and Fitness
  • SEWA
  • Health and Activity Card.

Yoga (VI - XII)

The school accepts and acknowledges the multi-dimensional advantages of Yoga and Meditation. It has been absorbed into the weekly time-table schedule. Classes are conducted under the guidance of a trained Yoga teacher.

Students from Classes I-IX are encouraged to play chess during their Physical Education periods to chisel their logical thinking, concentration and to foster a healthy competitive spirit.

Self-defence classes have been introduced for students of classes VI-XII. These classes enhance their self-confidence, balance and coordination.

School Gymnasium (IX-XII)

The school has its own gym with ultra-modern facilities and equipment. The main objective of the gym is to help the students improve their fitness and develop more stamina in terms of their health, through exposure to many types of exercises and activities.
