Investiture Ceremony 2023-24:

The school hosted the Investiture Ceremony for the Prefectorial Body for the academic year 2023-24 at a momentous ceremony on August 1, 2023. The newly elected members of the Prefectorial Body took the pledge to uphold the school motto of ‘Service before Self’ in high regard and esteem. The day dawned to bestow responsibilities on the deserving young talents to lead their school from the front with their commitment, confidence and competence. 142 students of Class XI and XII were appointed as Presidents, Vice Presidents and Executives of 30 distinguished clubs. The Chief Guest for the epoch-making occasion, Dr. Pavan Duggal, graced the occasion with his august presence. He is an advocate practising in the Supreme Court of India, specialising in the field of Cyberlaw, Cybercrime Law, Cybersecurity Law, and Artificial Intelligence Law. He lit the ceremonial lamp as a propitious start to the eventful morning followed by a beautiful rendition of the Saraswati Vandana by the Music Club of Delhi Public School, Mathura Road.

The Principal, Ms. Reema Sharma, welcomed the distinguished guests and felicitated the members of the PTA and the proud parents of the Prefectorial Body. Following this, was an informative and galvanising address by Dr. Pavan Duggal. He commended the parents and the school for providing a platform to the students to showcase their talent in the field of co-curriculars and also gave the gathering a much-needed insight into the dangers of cyber crime in the developing technological world. He congratulated the student council and guided them to exhibit utmost sincerity and dedication in performing their duties. He also motivated them to spread the light of knowledge and pass on the rich legacy of values and ethos of the school to their juniors.

The first half of the ceremony was followed by an enamouring Bharatanatyam performance called the Nava Rasa by Subhasmita Nayak and Adhyayan Gupta that set the mood for the morning.

Pranav Gulati and Mitali Ahlawat received their sashes and badges for Head Boy and Head Girl amidst roaring applause from the audience, along with their fellow schoolmates who received badges for their respective clubs. The Oath of Office was administered to the newly-appointed prefects by the Chief Guest, Dr. Pavan Duggal. The inception of the oath-taking ceremony was the symbolic handing over, where Meidhaa Ailawadi and Arnav Singh Sethi, the former Head Boy and Head Girl handed over the school flag to the incumbents.

The vote of thanks was rendered by the Vice-Principal, Ms. Monica Sahni. In her address, she encouraged the members of the Student Council to carry out their responsibilities with diligence and commitment.

The National Anthem brought the much-awaited morning to a close.
